My new review for “The ABCs of Death“. Okay so I have been waiting on this cut for a while now. Here is the scoop, 26 Directors made 26 short horror films involving death from 15 different countries. Each director was given a letter of the alphabet and then told to create a title and movie around a certain way to die, for instance the first one is called “A is for Apocalypse” and so on. I think this is brilliant. Granted some are better than others, but all are entertaining, inventive, perverted, fucked up and fun. It is like watching a global horror film festival of the best of the best. They have films that deal with the apocalypse, time travel, spiders, masturbation, dogfighting, girls farting, molestation, furries, robots, being overweight, toilets attacking, and even a miscarriage. There is something for everyone. I really like the idea these directors could film whatever vision they wanted to no matter how crazy or fucked up. True art is real, honest and even offensive sometimes. Anyway so if you want to see what is coming in horror, new directors, fucked up shit, farting, something that might inspire you make a short film, and if you don’t know the alphabet then this movie is for you. It was a lot of fun to watch and really something to see. Check it out. Also there will be a sequel to this coming in 2014. PS you can watch this on ON DEMAND right now. B. One of the cool shorts was by Jake West (S is for Speed, Escape from London, Doghouse, Pumpkinhead: Ashes to Ashes ). I am interesting in seeing more films from him. Only because our films sound the same.
D. D is for Dicks jiggling.
E. Ti West (M is for Miscarriage, The House of the Devil, The Innkeepers) directed one of the shorts.. Still one of my favorite Horror directors of today.
F. F is for FUCKED UP movies.
G. Marcel Sarmiento (D is for Dogfight, Deadgirl, Heavy Petting, It’s Better to Be Wanted for Murder Than Not to Be Wanted at All). I loved this one about a human boxing a dog. It was shot well and was interesting and bizarre.
H. H is for Horrific!
I. Jon Schnepp (W is for WTF, Metalocalypse, The Venture Bros., Upright Citizens Brigade) directed one of the shorts also. Yes, he works with Adult Swim.
J. J is for jerking off.
K. Jason Eisener (Y is for Young Buck, Hobo with a Shotgun, S-VHS) is a director to watch out for. This one was one of my favorites, it was shot well and fucked up.
L. Here is the score that was in the short YOUNG BUCK. It is amazing.
M. Noboru Iguchi (F is for Fart, The Machine Girl, RoboGeisha, Zombie Ass: Toilet of the Dead). I love this nasty ass one about farting.
N. They played Skyhooks “Horror Movie” in the end credits. Brilliant.
O. I love this poster.
